Rhizodesic
Origin of the term Rhizodesic
The term Rhizodesic is a combination of :
-
Rhizome (Noun): A continuously growing horizontal underground stem that puts out lateral shoots and adventitious roots at intervals.
-
Geodesic (adjective): Relating to or denoting the shortest possible line between two points on a sphere or other curved surface.
The name combines these two aspects of nature and geometry - (RHIZO)me and Geo(DESIC) to arrive at RHIZODESIC.
